His story
Yaḥyā was the answered prayer of an old man. Allah commanded him: 'Take the Scripture with determination' — and gave him judgement while he was still a boy.
The Qur'an describes him with a rare cluster of qualities: tenderness from Allah, purity, consciousness of Allah, and devotion to his parents — 'and he was not a tyrant, disobedient.' He lived simply and spoke the truth to a king, and was killed for it.
Allah placed peace upon him on three days no human escapes: the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised alive.
