His story
When Mūsā was commanded to face Pharaoh he prayed for help: 'And appoint for me a minister from my family — Hārūn, my brother. Increase through him my strength.' Allah answered: 'You have been granted your request, O Mūsā.'
Hārūn was more eloquent in speech and gentler in manner. He stood beside his brother before Pharaoh and shared the burden of leading a difficult people.
While Mūsā was at the mountain, the people made the calf. Hārūn warned them — 'O my people, you are only being tested by it' — and when Mūsā returned in anger, Hārūn explained that he had feared dividing the community. Allah names him among those He favoured and guided.
